A New Dawn

It’s scarry stepping out on my own, but thanks to you, I’ve got freinds for the journey ahead.

For the last three years I’ve been working very closely with Evil Genius Games. Goober and I wrote Everyday Heroes, the 5e modern action RPG, and followed it up wtih 8 Cinematic Adventures. I’m super proud of all that work and the products yet to come. That said, I’d been feeling like there were new horizons I wanted to explore, that EGG wasn’t as interested in. I made the very tough decision to leave the close company of the wonderful team there, and chart my own course by focusing on building SigTrent Games to be something special for fans, and for other creators.

The Vision

SigTrent Games represents a partnership between the creative partners who make games and the fans who support their efforts. Both ends of this partnership are equally important and equally valued. The creative staff use all their talents in service to the fans, and the fans financially support the creative staff. Both are honored and respected.

My Commitment

I chose to make my name the name of the company for a few reasons. The primary reason is that it represents my personal commitment to the quality and character of the company. I’ve tried to build a personal brand in gaming that is about quality work, ernest communications, and enjoying life. That’s what I’m about, and that is what my company is about.

Similarly, I intend to celebrate the unique qualities and talents of all the people we will work with, always putting their names in the spotlight (unless they prefer otherwise) so they can build their own brands and find fans who love their work.

What’s to come?

Our initial focus is going to be supporting Everyday Heroes, the game I made and love. We are working on our first product, which I expect will be ready within two weeks time. We are starting simple, and working our way up to larger projects. SigTrent Games is a grass roots kind of opperation, but the more support we get from fans, the faster we can make big things happen.

Because we are building from the ground up, the support of fans is going to be critical. For that reason, we will be ramping up ways you can engage with us and we will be asking what you want us to make. I’ve got lots of ideas, some bold, some familiar, but we most want to follow where our supporters want us to go. Any chance you get, please tell us what you want more of!

Right now, I’m doing a lot of the boring work like getting our accounting established, building social media profiles, creating ways to store our assets, and all the little things you need for a company to opperate smoothly and honestly. My goal is to make those kinds of operations smooth and easy so that in the long run, we can focus on the creative side of the business that everyone enjoys.
